Introduction Introduction

The Mighty Acorns program connects students to the land, empowers them to take action, teaches them the science of ecology, and engages them in restoring native plant and animal communities. The program introduces 4th through 6th graders to nature and conservation stewardship through activities based on education, restoration and exploration. Three times a year Field Museum staff lead students through a three-course field experience that focuses on three levels of nature related topics. In addition to the three outdoor field trips, teachers lead their students in pre-activities and post-activities in the classroom to introduce related topics.
