Unwrapping Chocolate: History and Culture

Delve into the story of a sumptuous rainforest treasure with Unwrapping Chocolate: Culture and History, a series of adult programs accompanying the Chocolate exhibition. We’ll examine the plants, products, history and culture of this luscious treat through the lenses of ecology, anthropology, economics and popular culture. This program combines the breadth and depth of a college course with the flexibility to tailor your studies to your interests and schedule. Enjoy this program as a lecture series by attending individual events, selecting several lectures on a theme or signing up for all the lectures for a complete immersion into the world of chocolate. Or you can enroll in Unwrapping Chocolate: Culture and History as a credit course, offered through the University of Illinois at Chicago, which also includes readings, assignments and discussion labs.

Individual lectures cost $12, students/educators $10, members $8. Keynote presentations cost $18, students/educators $15, members $12.
