FAMILY—Muridae
COMMON NAME—Mindoro
climbing rat.
DISTRIBUTION—Endemic
to Mindoro (FMNH): known only from Ilong Peak, Halcon Range.
HABITAT—Poorly
known; taken in forest at 1400 m (Musser, 1981).
STATUS—Uncertain;
geographically restricted to an island that has been heavily deforested;
vulnerable to further deforestation (Heaney and Utzurrum, 1991).
