ORDER—RODENTIA
FAMILY—Muridae

COMMON NAME—Isarog striped shrew-rat.

DISTRIBUTION—
Known only from Mt. Isarog, southern Luzon (FMNH).

HABITAT—
Occurs in montane and mossy forest, ca. 1350 m and above, on Mt. Isarog (Balete & Heaney, in press; Heaney et al., in press; Rickart and Heaney, 1991; Rickart et al., 1991).

STATUS—
Population stable but highly restricted in distribution, threatened by habitat destruction. IUCN: Critically endangered.
