FAMILY—Rhinolophidae

COMMON NAME—Acuminate horseshoe bat.

DISTRIBUTION—
Thailand to Lombok; in Philippines, known only from Palawan Faunal Region. Recorded from Balabac (USNM), Busuanga (USNM) and Palawan (FMNH).

HABITAT—
Unknown in the Philippines. Occurs in lowland dipterocarp forest on Borneo (Payne et al., 1985).

STATUS—
Uncertain, apparently locally common.

COMMENT ADDED IN 2005––Locally common in caves on Palawan (Esselstyn et al., 2004). Includes R. anderseni aeguilis (Allen, 1922); the status of the nominate form or R. anderseni is uncertain (Esselstyn et al., 2004).
