Overview: The Columbian Exposition of 1893 was a world’s fair that ushered in an era of optimism and economic growth. The fair, also known as the “White City,” was a historic event for the nation, a turning point for the City of Chicago, and the genesis of one of today’s most esteemed scientific institutions-The Field Museum. The exhibition features over a hundred amazing artifacts and specimens from the world’s fair that have rarely (or never) been on display in the past 120 years.
