Real Scientists "On Display" at Field Museum
For Immediate Release
June 20, 2013
What: In an effort to allow more visitor interaction with The Field Museum’s top scientists, the Museum is rolling out a new program that puts the scientists themselves “on display.” Every Friday a real scientist can be found with real objects from the Museum’s vast collections, talking with children and adults alike about their research.
When: Fridays, 12pm-2pm, summer hours (fall hours may vary)
Where: Stanley Field Hall/East Entrance (locations vary)
The Field Museum
1400 S. Lake Shore Drive
Chicago, IL 60605
Details: Each day, while Field Museum visitors delight over SUE, real scientists are hard at work answering questions about Earth, life on Earth and its future. Now visitors will be able to talk with these scientists about their work, see real artifacts and specimens from the over 24 million objects not on display at The Field, and experience the Museum like never before. From birds to insects, from mammals to plants, from pottery to spear points-all rarely seen by the public-the objects and scientists will educate and entertain Museum visitors.
