Katherine (Kit) McDonnell
DNA Discovery Center Resident
I am a rising high school senior at St. Francis High School who is completely enthralled with all things science! This summer anyone can find me behind the glass of the DNA Discovery Center with a pipette in my hand. I am currently studying pathogens found in birds through DNA research. It's been said that DNA is the source of all natural sciences: its genetic code links nucleic acids to proteins and other polymers and even entire organisms - how cool! I love the idea of applying this concept at the Field Museum to explore the relationships between the biological sciences and other branches of science.
Also, please take a look at the blog Simona and I are writing to document our experience right here!
