Farming Villagers—Ancestral Puebloans
Life changed dramatically for people who shifted from hunting and gathering to farming. They typically worked longer hours since farming was more labor intensive, but the reward was a reliable food source.

Many societies throughout the Americas settled in permanent villages and took up farming. But one of the most recognizable is that of Ancestral Puebloans. Around A.D. 1250, Ancestral Puebloans cultivated maize, built complex villages, and created beautiful pottery and baskets.

Check out some of the images below to learn more about Ancient Puebloans and their Farming Villager lifestyle.
