Afterschool Programs for Teens
Explore the Museum year-round with our afterschool programs. Tinker, create and innovate in our digital studio. Programs run from 4-6pm, are free of charge and open to teens ages 14-18. All teens must enter through the West Doors of the Museum and must present a school ID, or valid state ID. Pre-registration is not required. Teens that arrive after 5pm will not be able to gain entry to the building. Contact us at email@example.com with questions.
Dates: Wednesdays, September 17 – October 15, Time: 4-6pm In a connected world, even gardens are part of the Internet of Things. Come learn the basics of urban gardening and how electronics can give us better insights into homegrown food at The Field Museum.
Exploring Cultures through Movie Making
Dates: Wednesdays, October 22 – November 19, Time: 4-6pm Explore cultures and examine how they are represented (or misrepresented) in popular culture, through movie making! We’ll begin our exploration in Vodou and will look at how the Museum works with communities to tell their story. Teens will have the opportunity to create a movie about cultural representation in the modern day.
