Educator In-Services

Learn the ins and outs of planning successful focused field trips, how to bring the Museum's collections to your classroom, or dive deep into content. Schedule a 3-hour customized professional development program for educators at the Museum or your school. Email educators@fieldmuseum.org with questions. These sessions include:

  • Free basic admission for your group
  • Free educational resource packets
  • Introduction to the Museum's educational resources
  • Hands-on activities designed to meet customized learning goals

Who can schedule an In-service?

Group leaders of teacher education courses, professional education organizations, preK-12 school faculties, or other educator-groups.

How much does an in-service cost?

  • Fewer than 25 participants, $150
  • 26 - 50 participants, $200
  • 51 - 75 participants, $300
  • 76 - 100 participants, $400

If your group is larger than 100, contact our Group Sales Department to coordinate your event.

How do you schedule an In-service?

Complete the Educator In-service Request Form at least one month prior to the requested In-service date. Once your request form has been received, we will contact you to confirm the in-service. Email educators@fieldmuseum.org with any questions.

When and how do you pay for an in-service?

We accept payment by check or credit card. Payment must be received at least two weeks prior to the program date. If we do not receive payment by that time, your in-service may be cancelled.

Can we arrange catering?

Yes. Additional charges apply, please note catering interests on your request form so that we can discuss them with you.

Can we visit a temporary exhibition?

Yes, however our in-service fees do not include admission to temporary exhibitions. Please note this interest on your request form so that we can discuss your options prior to program confirmation.
