Visit Carnivore Corner, where the relatives of domestic dogs and cats reside. Look up to see the complete skeleton of a black right whale, and listen for the haunting song of the humpback whale.
Learn more about lemurs, a type of primate found only on the island of Madagascar. Discover how to tell the difference between a seal and a sea lion, and get a close-up look at an Indian gray mongoosea real Riki-Tiki-Tavi, the mongoose made famous in Rudyard Kiplings story.

How does a pelican use its pouch? Why do peacocks have such long tails? How do a ducks feet help it to push through the water? Discover the answers to these and other questions in the fascinating exhibition World of Birds. From the delicate, violet feathers of a New Guinea bird of paradise to the rainbow-colored bill of a South American toucan, youll marvel at the beauty and diversity of birds from around the world.
Stand face-to-face with a male emperor penguin from Antarctica, which warms the eggs of his young by balancing them on the tops of his feet. Dont forget to take a peek through the Museums special audio field glasses, which allow you to hear the distinctive songs of the birds you see.
