THE YEAR OF BIODIVERSITY AND CONSERVATION

Join The Field Museum in exploring, celebrating, and protecting our planet’s amazing web of life! To increase awareness of biodiversity, The Field Museum is dedicating this school year as “The Year of Biodiversity and Conservation.”

From September 2003 through May 2004, you can learn about some of the most provocative and pressing scientific concerns of our times. Climate change, water conservation, genetic diversity—each month, we tackle a different topic and investigate issues that affect us all.

The nine-month program will highlight the cutting-edge research and conservation projects of many of the Museum’s 170 scientists who work in 75 countries around the world. Exhibitions, lectures, scientist roundtables, and public programs will allow visitors to meet these scientists and learn about how we can each become personally involved in preserving Earth’s biodiversity.

In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught.
