This letter to Herman Strecker was written in 1878 by Eliphalet Wickes Blatchford, to order copies of Strecker’s book at $2 apiece. Blatchford was a Chicago businessman, who also was actively involved in many educational and religious organizations. Notably, he was a trustee to the Walter L. Newberry estate and helped create the Newberry Library in Chicago.
