Journey Through Calumet
Community Action and Everydaylife

clear image

All forms of activism are important,
whether residents belong to formal community based organizations, or act informally, for example, by planting gardens around their homes. Through existing forms of activism, we see a genuine interest in regional sustainability. On the other hand, lack of formal participation does not indicate a lack of interest or involvement.

This section highlights some of the assets and non-place based communities found in the study area through a series of ethnographic photos and slide shows.
