George Washington Carver: Plant Doctor and Soil Scientist
Grades 3-8
Join Soil Adventure Mobile educators for hands-on activities and a guided tour of the George Washington Carver exhibition. Using Underground Adventure, students will connect Carver’s innovations to Illinois prairie soil types.

Forgotten Genius
Grades K-12
The topic of “Forgotten Genius” will be discussed by historians and will cover the role that “forgotten” African-Americans and women have played in the development of scientific technologies and discoveries. Speakers will include Dr. Walter Hill, Dean, Tuskegee University, Peter Burchard, Carver biographer, and Faith Julian (Percy Julian's sister).
