Carver’s Mighty Vision
See the world through the eyes of Carver as he went about his daily work. A modest pair of spectacles lets you know you’re about to get an intensely personal experience of a most extraordinary man. These are the eyeglasses through which Carver carefully focused on his lifelong vision: “help the farmer and fill the poor man’s empty dinner pail.”

From Slave to Scholar
Discover the childhood challenges and thirst for knowledge that drove Carver to pursue his mission to do the greatest good for others. Kidnapped and orphaned when he was just a baby, young George was rescued by his owners, Moses and Susan Carver, who raised him. As a young man, he attended Iowa State College at Ames, where he studied science and agriculture and eventually became the first black member of its faculty.
