Chinese American Museum honors a core group of Field Museum staff

On September 25, 2010, the Chinese American Museum of Chicago reopened after a devastating fire two years ago. With great joy and pride, the Chinese American Museum, the Mayor’s Office, and the Consul General of China honored a core group of Field Museum staff from Anthropology and ECCo along with others from the Chicago museum community as well as Chicago firefighters who battled the blaze. Field Museum staff were central in helping the Chinese American Museum with fire cleanup and care of the surviving artifacts. ECCo has had a long-standing relationship with the museum, first through the Cultural Connections program and then through the Chicago Cultural Alliance.
