Cleopatra : Inside Ancient Egypt at The Field Museum

Visit the Waters of the Nile

The Nile River gave life to Egypt, as its yearly floods replenished the land. In the exhibition, you can see a recreation of a papyrus marsh on the Nile River, and learn about the life of farmers and fisherman in ancient days. You’ll also discover a boat that once traveled the Nile to bring a king to his final resting place.

Funerary boat of Sen-Wosret III, 20th-18th century B.C.E.
