Plan a Group Visit

With tour groups in mind, The Field Museum is pleased to offer this itinerary to make the most of this exhibition.

After your visit to Dinosaur Dynasty, stop by our recently renovated Hall of Jades, featuring stunning collections from all periods of Chinese jade history, from the prehistoric to the early 20th century. While jade exhibitions at most art museums focus on jade's aesthetic beauty and craftsmanship, The Field Museum lends a natural history perspective to its collections, relating artifacts to the times and cultures from which they originate.

Suggested Group Itineraries:

Chinese Art and Science

Visit Dinosaur Dynasty and encounter the dramatic dinosaurs of China—one of the world’s hottest spots for dinosaur discovery.  Walk amongst spectacular skeletons, including Mamenchisaurus, the longest-necked animal that ever lived!

Include in your visit the newly renovated Hall of Jades and see the Museum’s collection from all periods of Chinese jade history, from the prehistoric to the early 20th century.

Leave time for shopping in the Museum’s store where jade items will accent a stunning collection of China-related gifts and accessories.

Relax in the Corner Bakery with a cup of Chinese green tea and sweet almond cookies before, during or after your day of exploring Chinese art and science.

China Immersion

Immerse yourself in the Dinosaur Dynasty exhibition and explore specimens from 245-65 million years ago!

Don't miss the newly renovated Hall of Jades on the balcony level and see the Museum’s collection from all periods of Chinese jade history, from the prehistoric to the early 20th century.

Visit Chicago’s Chinatown for a tasty lunch or dinner treat.

Tour the Chinatown community on foot or in your own motor coach with an expert guide who can tell you about its history, festivals, serene gardens and old world architecture.

“Private Viewing” – Great for corporate outings, summer parties or family reunions

After the Museum closes, enjoy a private reception and exhibition viewing of Dinosaur Dynasty before heading to the theater or other evening events.
