Some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the Dino Zone and the new exhibition about life over time.

What is the Dino Zone?
The Dino Zone is an exciting place in The Field Museum to see and learn more about dinosaurs and other fossils. Explore the exciting new hands-on dinosaur-themed interpretive station. Become a paleontologist and examine touchable dinosaur teeth, claws, and bones. Learn how to discover dinosaurs. Have fun playing the dinosaur trivia game. And check out the McDonald’s Fossil Preparation Laboratory and observe Field Museum staff preparing fossils from all over the world.

The Dino Zone is located on the Upper Level balcony, next to the McDonald's Fossil Preparation Laboratory: weekdays 10:00am–2:00pm; weekends 10:30am–4:00pm.

Also, check the information kiosks in Stanley Field Hall for the daily schedule of other interpretive stations around the Museum.

Where can I see dinosaurs and other fossils before the new exhibition opens?

You can also see spectacular fossils in the Dino Zone. The original bones of Sue, the world’s largest and most complete T. rex, will continue to be on display in the Museum’s Stanley Field Hall.

You can also face off with a five-foot skull of Triceratops, the great three-horned dinosaur of the late Cretaceous and Sue's adversary and/or meal.
