The DNA Discovery Center and the Pritzker Lab
The DNA Discovery Center is a new, permanent Field Museum exhibition that answers basic and complex questions about DNA and how DNA research is changing what we know about life on our planet.
Within the exhibit, you can explore hands-on interactives, videos, and engaging displays that will brief you on the basics of DNA and provide you with a behind-the-scenes look at the Field Museum’s Pritzker Laboratory for Molecular Systematics and Evolution. Established in 1974, the Pritzker Lab provides researchers with state-of-the-art equipment for genetic research that helps us understand evolution and preserve the world’s biodiversity.
The Pritzker Lab is shared by Field Museum curators, staff members, and associated outside collaborators who constitute together one of the most diverse groups of evolutionary biologists and systematists in the world. In the last decade alone, over 184 scientists from 29 countries have been trained here, studying everything from mega sharks to microscopic algae.
Take a look at the work of these researchers and learn more about DNA analysis at the Pritzker Lab for Molecular Systematics and Evolution.
