Erica Zahnle.
Member, Pritzker Lab Management Committee
DNA Educator and Researcher, DNA Discovery Center
Erica Zahnle is the public educator for the DNA Discovery Center, the public face of the Pritzker Lab, which is a working, state-of-the-art DNA research facility where dozens of scientists are currently analyzing the DNA of thousands of different species. Erica’s role is to make sure exhibition visitors leave with an understanding of what DNA is, where it is found, and what Field Museum scientists are using it for. Most importantly, her goal is to help visitors understand that all life on earth is connected through DNA!
As a DNA researcher, Erica works on projects dealing with biodiversity, conservation, and systematics. Birds, fish, lichens, and plants are just a few of the organisms she will be researching.
