The Old Kingdom

The Middle Kingdom
11th 13th Dynasties, ca. 2040 - 1650 B.C.
The collapse of the Old Kingdom was followed by approximately 150 years of civil disorder. Mentuhotep II, a Theban ruler, reunified Egypt around 2040 B.C. with the goal of reviving her glorious past. See how the artistic styles of the Old Kingdom are brought back, but with a new flavor and some innovations.
