Plan a Field Trip to Eternal Egypt

A field trip to see Eternal Egypt presents a wonderful opportunity for your students to explore one of the world’s longest-lasting and most fascinating civilizations. Pre-registration is required for students to visit this special exhibition. Indicate your interest on your Field Trip Registration form. Requests are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

When planning your trip, consider these other exciting opportunities for your students:

Guided Tour - Inside Ancient Egypt
A guided tour by our expert Museum docents offers your students an in-depth and interactive learning experience. Our permanent exhibition Inside Ancient Egypt lets your students explore a life-size Egyptian tomb and unravel the secrets of 23 Egyptian mummies—one of the largest collections of mummies in the nation.
For grades 4–12
Monday–Friday at 10:30am and 11:45am
Program is free. Pre-registration is required.
Please note: Guided exhibition tours are not available for the special exhibition Eternal Egypt.

Field Trip Class – Egypt Unwrapped
Prepare a mummy for its journey to the afterlife. You’ll explore the traditions and beliefs of ancient Egypt as you re-create sacred objects and treasures of this ancient civilization.
For grades 3–8
Thursdays, 10am–1pm
$3 per student
Pre-registration is required.

Discover the mystery, power, and magic of ancient Egypt right here in Chicago. Explore one of the nation’s largest collections of mummies at The Field Museum, meet leading Egyptologists at the University of Chicago’s Oriental Institute, and see a premiere collection of ancient Egyptian art at the Art Institute of Chicago. Along the way, you’ll discover a variety of ways to integrate ancient Egyptian art and culture into multidisciplinary units that emphasize language arts, math and technology. Workshop also includes a viewing of Eternal Egypt.
For teachers of grades 4–12
Three-day workshop: July 28, 29, & 30
9:30am–3:30pm
$150, members $120
