Mollusks
Mollusks (MAH-lusks) are soft-bodied, with a muscular “foot” that they use to move or to grasp their prey. Some mollusks, such as clams and snails, have a hard shell. Others, such as squids, have an internal shell. Slugs and certain other mollusks have no shell at all.
While mollusks first appeared in the Cambrian Period, three different groups of mollusks became common in the Ordovician seas: cephalopods, gastropods, and bivalves. These three groups still exist and have living members that would be familiar to you.
