Ernst & Young 3-D Theater
Opening May 22, 2009
Starting May 22, visitors will get an entirely new experience when we open our Ernst & Young 3-D Theater. This is Chicago’s only completely digital 3-D theater using state-of-the-art technology. We will showcase several different films throughout the year bringing some of the Museum’s favorite exhibition topics to life.
Tickets to a Field Museum 3-D movie are $5 per person with basic admission to the Museum. Tickets can only be purchased at the Museum.

Egypt 3D!
Journey to the royal tombs of Egypt and explore the history of ancient Egyptian society as told through the mummies of the past. Dinosaurs Alive! 3-D
Get an exciting look at paleontology from yesterday and today. Follow paleontologists as they explore some of the greatest dinosaur finds in history. With the help of computer animation, you'll meet and learn about Tarbosaurus (a close relative to T. rex), Velociraptors, Protoceratops, and more. Dinosaurs Alive! 3-D brings dinosaurs their behaviors and their ancient environments to life as never before seen, juxtaposing stunningly realistic CGI with intriguing 1920s documentary footage and current dinosaur hunting expeditions.
