Training Programs in Chicago

Museum-based training programs bring Africans to Chicago and connect U.S. students to Africa. Among these programs are

  • The Conservation Training Consortium (formerly the Advanced Training Program), an alliance of The Field Museum, the Chicago Zoological Society, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the John G. Shedd Aquarium, and the University of Chicago. Since 1994, thirteen African participants (from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Madagascar) have joined biologists from other tropical countries in Chicago-based and in-country training that includes seminars, directed readings, field work, and independent research projects.
