Prestige
When we gain prestige, whether through our good deeds, lofty social status or just plain hard work, we may choose to show it with possessions our society deems valuable: a fancy hat, a gold watch, a feather crown.

But what is it about a gold watch that expresses prestige? And how about that feather crown? An object may convey prestige depending on:

  • how much time went into making it
  • how much effort went into making it
  • how rare are the materials it’s made from

Would you say that you have prestige?

Or do you know someone who does? What tells you so?
