| Classroom Activity Suggestions for Teachers
Classroom Connections Explorer's Journal Ask students to keep an explorer's journal. To get started, have students read each profile* then write about their personal reaction to and interest in one of the fields of study they read about. Additional entries might entail making a list of hobbies, writing about a favorite subject in school, creating profiles of role models through interviews, reviewing a book about a hobby or career, listing the professions of family members and friends along with the skills and tasks required. A final entry might include researching the field of study they wrote about in the first entry, then writing a report about that field and their opinion of it before and after researching it.
