The Close of the Season
At other times during the week, we worked on our paper for the conference and continued our plant study, making several additional trips to the site to identify and photograph the vegetation. Don Pablo, who guarded the excavations, is especially knowledgeable about the local plants, and he accompanied us on our most informative trips. While traversing the site, we also explored several clusters of terraces where we are considering excavating next spring. Ideally, we would like to excavate a high status domestic unit/terrace next year, and we think that our best chance to find such a house or complex is by getting even closer to the top of the hill.
