Fungal herbarium
Specimens obtained from all over the world over the past 100+ years are housed in the Field Museum’s fungal herbarium. These specimens serve as the historical record for documenting what occurred when and where. They also are actively used for studying the physical features, chemicals, and even the DNA of mushrooms. The Field Museum’s fungal herbarium houses nearly 200,000 specimens.
