Meet the Team Betty Strack, M.S. Associate in Mycology, Department of Botany and Manager, Scanning Electron Microscope Laboratory, The Field Museum Betty Strack has a MS degree in fungal biology and has been an active member of the Costa Rican Fungal Inventory team since its inception. Her first trip to Costa Rica was in 1989. Betty has also studied mushrooms and other fungi in Europe, China, and South America. In addition to fieldwork, Betty undertakes laboratory studies using fungal cultures and uses the Scanning Electron Microscope to examine the detailed structure of fungal spores. meet the team>>
