About the Expedition

Hairy-winged Bat
Harpiocephalus harpia

Found primarily at high elevations within Philippine cloud forests, this big insectivorous bat has heavy molars for feasting on sturdy beetles.

Its fur is dense and soft, even on the base of its wings and the top of its tail membrane.
