Hunting for Cretaceous Dinosaurs in Wyoming Before going into the field, Pete secured permits for surveying on federal and state land from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the State of Wyoming respectively. Please remember that digging for vertebrate fossils on federal or state land without permits is against the law. Also, it is important that this work is left to professional paleontologists who are trained in excavating these often fragile fossils.
