Laura M. Sadler
Laura Sadler is the Sr. Vice President of Museum Enterprises and responsible for the Museum’s exhibitions department, earned income and marketing areas. Her responsibilities include:
- 34 permanent exhibitions in over 300,000 square feet
- 912 annual temporary exhibitions
- Outbound traveling exhibitions
- Exhibition selection, 3-D and graphic design, content development, artifact registration, exhibition production, maintenance, and institutional coordination of all public projects
- Five retail locations totaling 8,700 square feet
- Special Events totaling 200 annual corporate, convention and social events
- Tourism and Group Sales, attracting thousands of visitors annually from around the world
- Product licensing program, based on collections including Madagascar, Pompeii, Asia, Botanicals, John James Audubon, the Mary W. Runnells Rare Book Room, and Sue
- Museum membership program and In The Field publication
- Website content and publication, exhibition catalogues, brochures and Museum wayfinding
- Public Relations, marketing and advertising
Laura joined the Field Museum in 1997 as the Director of Auxiliary Services after 10 years as Director of Retail Operations at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, where she oversaw the Zoo Shops, Guest Services, parking and concessions. Laura serves on the Chicago Architecture Foundation Retail Task Force and her prior experience includes Limited Stores, May Company and I. Magnin. Laura holds a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Bowling Green State University.
