Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years
Selections from the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum
November 13, 2004 through May 8, 2005 at The Field Museum

With tour groups in mind, The Field Museum in collaboration with Marshall Field’s, is pleased to preview several packaged travel concepts that revolve around Jacqueline Kennedy’s influence on American women’s style, fashion, and entertaining.

Suggested Group Packages featuring The Field Museum and Marshall Field’s:

Offered November 15, 2004 to December 31, 2004

  • “The White House and Holiday Traditions”*
    • Packages will include admission to Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years and a tour of Marshall Field’s renowned holiday decorations including the 13 State Street windows, the main floor and the Walnut Room 45-foot Great Tree dressed in 1,200 themed ornaments and 25,000 dazzling lights along with narrative about Marshall Field’s 150 years of holiday celebrations including Uncle Mistletoe and Santa Bear. The tour will include a stop in Trim-A-Home shop to consider holiday decorations.

Offered February 1, 2005 to May 5, 2005

  • “Tea Traditions”*
    • Packages will include admission to Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years and Afternoon Tea in the Walnut Room, Chicago’s oldest restaurant, and featuring the original Circassium walnut paneling and Austrian crystal chandeliers. Whittard Teas of Chelsea, the tea of choice of the British Royal Family is served. Includes a visit to the Whittard Teas of Chelsea shop in Marshall Field’s Lower Level.

Offered March/April 2005 (Offered selected dates from mid-March to early April 2005)

  • “Rose Garden Rendezvous”*
    Rose Garden Rendezvous is presented in cooperation with Chicago Botanic Garden.
    • Packages will include admission to Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years and a tour of Marshall Field’s Flower Show displays guided by the master gardeners of the Chicago Botanic Garden. The themed floral displays feature hundreds of thousands of cut flowers and potted plants. Chicago Botanic Garden staff enhances selected packages with a Rose Garden presentation on traditions, care and selection of rose gardens. Don’t miss the Sean Conway Garden Shop at Marshall Field’s to discover tools and accessories for your rose garden. Consider adding another day to visit the Chicago Botanic Garden.

*Guest presentations with former White House staff member may be added. Programs are subject to change and speaker availability. Rates and reservations available December 2003.

  • “A Gem of A Day”
    • - A personalized, docent led tour of Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years for a behind the scenes perspective followed by a viewing of the Grainger Hall of Gems. Don’t miss our renovated Hall of Jades.
  • “Private Viewing”
    • After the museum closes, enjoy a private reception and exhibition viewing before heading to the theater or other evening events.
