Celebrate Sues arrival with a host of dino-mite activities for all ages!
Create-a-Saurus. What are dinosaurs made of? Use your imagination and show us. Join us in building dinos large and small using foam and wire.
Dino-mite art. Visit our artists on the floor to discover dazzling dinosaur art!
Dino-Time for preschoolers. Were sure to capture your childs attention and imagination with a program of songs, stories, and dinosaur artwork.
Fossils beneath your feet. Look closely at the Museums floor and discover remnants of animals that flourished in an ancient seaa sea much older than any dinosaur.
Dino/dino-not. Learn what makes a dinosaur a dinosaur. (A hint: its not size!) Then see how you measure up as you compare your size to that of different dinos.
Bone up. Visit the McDonalds® Fossil Preparation Lab here at The Field Museum and see what our preparators are working on now.

See dinosaurs in action! The Museum is sponsoring a special screening of Walt Disney Pictures spectacular new computer animated/live action movie, "Dinosaur." The screening is followed by a family celebration at The Field Museum. Limited admission; call (312) 665-7400 for information and tickets.

Explore the world of dinosaurs through the arts in a weekend full of delightful family programs.
World premier! A new theater piece written specially for The Field Museum uses puppetry to bring Sue to life and to tell the story of the evolution of dinosaurs.
Dinosaur tales. Meet the creators of Sues own books: "A Dinosaur Named Sue" and "The Field Mouse and the Dinosaur Named Sue." Fay Robinson and other well-known dinosaur authors will meet visitors and sign books.

The science of Sue. After nearly two years of research, Paleontologist Chris Brochu, a research associate at The Field Museum and the lead researcher on Sue, will discuss what he has uncovered about the largest, most complete and best-preserved T. rex ever found. The sounds of dinosaurs? Another world premier! The Chicago Chamber Musicians perform a concert featuring a world premier performance of "Tyrannosaurus Sue: A Cretaceous Concerto," with music by Bruce Adolphe of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, poems by Kevin Crotty, and illustrations by Kurt Vargo. The celebration also features a reading of the new children's book, "The Field Mouse and the Dinosaur Named Sue" by popular children's author Jan Wahl, with illustrations by Bob Doucet.
