FAMILY— Sciuridae

COMMON NAME— Palawan flying squirrel.

DISTRIBUTION—
Palawan Faunal Region only. Recorded on Bancalan (FMNH) and Palawan Island (FMNH, USNM).

HABITAT—
Primary and secondary lowland forest, where they nest in cavities in large trees (Taylor, 1934; Esselstyn et al., 2004).

STATUS—
Moderately common.
