ORDERCETACEA COMMON NAMEPygmy sperm whale. DISTRIBUTIONTropical to warm temperate zones of all oceans. This species has been sighted in Tanon Strait, and a skeleton was obtained from Pamilacan, Bohol (Dolar & Perrin, 1996; Dolar & Wood, 1993; Leatherwood et al., 1992). HABITATOften found over and near the continental slope. STATUSUncommon in the Philippines. CITES: Appendix II. IUCN: Insufficiently known (Klinowska, 1991).
