This is a synopsis of the Mammalian Fauna of the Philippine Islands adapted for the Internet in 2001, based on a printed publication that appeared in 1998. You may search for particular species by Order, by clicking on a location on a map, or by searching the list of all mammals known from the Philippine islands. The page for each species has a photograph of the animal and its skull (when available) as well as information on documented distribution, habitat, and conservation status.
This web version, released April 2002 (updated November 2002 and February 2005), also contains brief additional notes on some recent publications especially on species that have been formally described since the printed publication appeared in 1998.
