ORDER—RODENTIA
FAMILY—Muridae

COMMON NAME—Northern Luzon shrew-rat.

DISTRIBUTION—
Known only from Mt. Data, Benguet Province, Luzon (FMNH).

HABITAT—
Known only from mossy forest at 2200 m to 2400 m in the Central Cordillera (Rabor, 1955; Sanborn, 1952; Thomas, 1898).

STATUS—
Uncommon in high elevation mossy forest.

NOTE ADDED IN 2005--Documented in montane and mossy forest from 1,600-2,150 me elevation in Balbalasang, Kalinga Province (Heaney et al, 2004).
