FAMILY—Muridae

COMMON NAME—Great Sunda rat.

DISTRIBUTION—
Southern Burma to Palawan. Philippine records are from Balabac (USNM), Busuanga (USNM), Culion (FMNH), and Palawan (FMNH).

HABITAT—
Second growth and primary forest, from sea level to 900 m (Sanborn, 1952).

STATUS—
Common in forest habitats from lowlands to mossy ridge-tops.
