ORDER—RODENTIA
FAMILY—Sciuridae

COMMON NAME—Palawan montane tree squirrel.

DISTRIBUTION—
Palawan island only (PNM).

HABITAT—Recorded in mountains on Palawan from 1100 to 1300 m.

STATUS—
Moderately common but g
eographically restricted and probably confined to upper elevation forest. IUCN: Vulnerable.

COMMENT ADDED IN 2005––Specimens reported from Mt. Montalingajan and Mt. Gorangbato (Esselstyn et al., 2004).
