ORDER—RODENTIA
FAMILY—Sciuridae
COMMON NAME—Palawan
montane tree squirrel.
DISTRIBUTION—Palawan
island only (PNM).
HABITAT—Recorded
in mountains on Palawan from 1100 to 1300 m.
STATUS—Moderately
common but geographically
restricted and probably confined to upper elevation forest. IUCN: Vulnerable.
COMMENT ADDED IN 2005––Specimens reported from Mt. Montalingajan and Mt. Gorangbato (Esselstyn et al., 2004).
