FAMILY—Muridae

COMMON NAME—Mindanao spiny rat.

DISTRIBUTION—
Known only from Mindanao (Bukidnon [Musser, 1994], South Cotabato [DMNH] provinces).

HABITAT—
Poorly known. Apparently restricted to lowland forest.

STATUS—
Uncertain. Probably formerly widespread in lowland forest on Mindanao, but may now be greatly affected by habitat destruction. IUCN: Vulnerable
