ORDER—CHIROPTERA
FAMILY—Vespertilionidae
COMMON NAME—Greater
flat-headed bat, Greater bamboo bat.
DISTRIBUTION—Southern China to the Lesser Sunda Islands,
and Philippines; recorded from Luzon (Rizal [USNM] and Zambales (UPD)
provinces), Calauit (UMMZ) and Palawan (USNM).
HABITAT—Disturbed lowland regions with bamboo stands (Heaney &
Alcala, 1986).
STATUS—Widespread,
status unknown in Philippines.
COMMENT—First
reported from the Philippines by Heaney and Alcala (1986).
