2012 High School Summer Internship Project
Project Description: This internship is focused on the documentation of a new meteorite and rock research collection donated to the Field Museum. This includes the photography, weighing description of basic characteristics and data entry of individual specimens that will be accessioned in the museum's collection. Special care will be taken to prevent cross-contamination of samples, and most of the work needs to be performed with gloves (vinyl or nitrile). The intern will work at the University of Chicago's Department of Geophysical Sciences. The intern should be detailed oriented, work very carefully, clean and, after initial training, work with minimal supervision. Basic digital photography and data entry skills are desirable.
