Cat. 255437
Part of the Boone Collection

The gosho doll in the Boone collection was a gift from the Empress Taisho to Mrs. Hosokawa, one of her ladies-in-waiting, who was the Boone's landlord during their stay in Tokyo. The little boy wears a gold eboshi hat and a bib which is painted on, rather than the fabric bib many gosho wear. He carries presents and sits on an orange silk cushion with tasseled corners.
