Glass beads were used as currency in Cameroon, and long blue beads such as those used on this leopard crest from Bamum were restricted to use by royalty. Dried banana leaves, raffia splints, cloth foundation for beads and cowry shells. H 16-1/2 inches. (Nineteenth century).
