One of the most famous archaeological discoveries ever made in the Philippine Islands, this 4-1/2 pound solid gold figure of a Hindu or Buddhist deity was purchased by The Field Museum in 1922. It is one of a few known objects that shows the influence of South Asian culture on the Philippines in early times. Agusan del Norte Province, Mindanao, Philippines (A.D. 1000-1300).
